Are the bands u praise/love the most also the band u listen to the most?

For me, if anyone were to ask my all time fav bands, i would say -
1. Blind Guardian
2. Iron Maiden
3. Dream Theater
4. Metallica (in the glorious past)
5. Iced Earth
6. Nightwish
A couple of years ago, i could listen to their albums many times in a stretch...

But for the past few months the only bands I have been listening to in a major scale are -
1. Sonata Arctica
2. Ayreon
3. Elvenking
4. Angra

Does this happen to u too that u reach a point of saturation when u know every moment of most of ur fav band's songs and then don't feel like listening it again and again like u used to?

 

I have a huge list of fav bands but finally end up listening to other too.. Its like when i play i play these favs.. and when i listen its mostly different.. But since my collection exceeds a whooping 40,000 songs i have options. whiere i pick my favs and put them onto my mp3 player cd..

 

yeah that happens sometimes, but then i switch to some nu bands for a change n back again.

 

I download any music available for download. he he.. So if i like something i'll keep it listen to it.. Sometimes stop metallica song to play them but Metallica are still my favs..

im not just talking about listening to one or two songs... i mean the whole album at a stretch and then to replay it as soon as you finish it once. I used to do this with many Maiden and BG albums..

 

it happens when i play DT SOD and IM And Metallica

 

then u r lucky... maybe if i try again after a few months...

that was kinda of a lame statement but i mean i like how their lyrics go great with their music. Im not saying they are the only bands but one of my favorite ones. Also "meaningful music" is the lamest statement i hav ever said. dont make fun of me. lol.

 

well... meaningful for You might not be meaningful for me or anyone else... I've never found GnR lyrics to be amazingly great... good, yes but not great... but its all a relative thing.

 

GNR lyrics are bad actually. Except November Rain.. Which i didnt understand. He he..

 

true if u listen to like Paradise City lyrics its pretty............hm........ put it this way. Its not the best, they couldve done better.

 

But i like the lyrics still. only some certain songs of theirs go great with their music i didnt mean alll of em. Like Mt Michelle, and some others that stad out.

 

I think by far Sweet child makes a little sense.. Paradise city also does not make sense..
