    whats the difference b/w arpegios and sweep picking--guys if this is some stupid question dun make fun o me ---jsut to gain more knowledge ;)

    Sweep picking is a technique for playing fast. An arpeggio simply means playing the notes of a chord one at a time.

    An arpeggio is when u take a chord and play the individual notes. Eg. C major consists of C E G...so play the notes ..hence u arpegiate the chord. Note: The notes should be spaced out, that is they shouldnt ring out together as in a chord.

    U can play an arpeggio 2 ways:
    1. alternate picking
    2. sweep picking

    thnx guys --thas gr8---i guess i understood it ----so in an arpegio--the notes of the chords can b any where on the fretboard or u have to play the notes in the specific chord formation only?

    @smriti---generally asked ya smriti ---just guessed coz generally all amateurs are school kids---k ----i know thats kinda stupid ----ummm i was just gettin bored had to post smthin :p
