Forgot to mention .. you cant switch from clean to distortion in Cube 15X as it doesn't have a foot switch..
When you use a processor you shud keep the amp on cleans. Amp inbuilt effects are useful when you're not using a processor. So you can control the sound by the processor. I dont have experience with the RP70 or the like but i think they shud not very good. I had a Boss ME-20 which i sold off and now i use individual pedals so not much experience with the processors. If you wanna buy a new guitar then go for Greg Bennett AV1 or Yamaha 112. Better than the guitars you mentioned before.
No idea bout the GRX40 but i really dont like the Ibanez GRG series as they are very unstable. Goes out of tune every minute. Do one thing... go to a shop and play both the guitar... after you're done playing check the tuning of both the guitar again. Do some bends surely as that's when the guitar goes outta tune.. In case you need my guitar i can ship it anywhere in India and trust me my Ibanez is far better than the 2 guitars you have mentioned. Good Luck !
There are better guitars than the 170DX. Like Yamaha 112, Greg Bennett Avion series within the same price range. 170DX is a very famous beginner guitar but definitely not the best. Go to a shop and try out various guitar yourself. For the amp Roland 15X is very decent. I also use one. In case you're from Bangalore you also have an option of Ibanez SA220FM which i'm selling.
