the thing is u shud try both....music shud be ur passion:rock: but studies shud be ur job....jodi ei passionta tomake drive kore egiye niye jai towards a lot of success then its good...but music line is very insecure...specially band music-er khetre...eto hajar hajar band ekhon...tar modhye stand out kora khub-i tough....usa-te band music kore jibika chalano jai but ekhane shob kichhui academic ellegibility'r opor nirbhor kore...so u have to study....i hhe na korleo porte hobe yaar!!porashuna kore ekta shokto platform baniye felle then u can dvote ur major time to music.....

amar nijer example niye jodi boli tahole bolbo ami chhoto thekei music ete interested chhilam kintu konodin sahos hoyni music ke as a career follow korar....gan sikhechhi toblao sikhechhi but i was a kid at that time and the interest was grown more out of my parents interests rather than my own....which dissiminated into my genes with time.....(well tht u can say is a parents role in our life).....

ekhon ami porashonar pat motamuti chukiye chakri bakri kori and quite well settled....ekhon ami amar interest gulo ke pursue korar jonye time bar korte pari.....i devote almost 3 hours(even more at times) to guitar every day....

so the crux is that either sahos kore music ke as a career(rather passion) bechhe niye bhule jao ke ki bolchhe.....and be confident and passionate abt it :rule:

why can't music be ur profession and lets say engineering ur hobby???

 

if u choose music as ur profession how muandch are u gonna get payed??
only if ur a member of a huge band like parikrama or euphoria then u do well

palash sen is a doctor btw on weekends here.

 

there is a bangla rock band called fossils. they take 75k to 1 lakh for each show. hardly 15-20 k of tht goes to show expences.
they do 12-15 of shows per month.
5 members in the band.
now temme....

but if u r in college, and ur earning more or less 10-15k rs per month for being in a populer newcoming band......den its surely gr8.

and yah, rupom o kintu teacher.

 

kudos 2 u lefty .. rightly said ... however u wud also agree tht there are loads of musicians who initially dreamt of making it big but down the way due to lack of finances had to quit ....

 

It comes down to luck in the music industry. All talented musicians need a big break. Some get it early, some get it late and some never do.

Imagine this, after say, 10 years when you are a professional musician (without any other job) but your band is still struggling to get a big enough break. You have to support your family and you have to earn, so you have to play enough 'khep's and sessions with artists and musical genre you dislike. This kills your creative time and energy. See, you can't compose masterpieces when your stomach is empty. This is the brutal truth man, I know a lot of fantastic musicians who are victim of this.
