wat kurt cobain ?? his riff suck big time !! man he coudnt even tune his own guitar in 1 of his concerts!!!!!! hav u ever heard of satch!!
I think the title of this thread is wrong. It should be" World's greatest rock stars". Because putting Kurt Cobain's name as the world's best guitarist is something that is quite frankly, the most assinine and immature ting I've ever seen. Saddest thing is that this thread has gone so many posts without the names Joe Satriani or Jimi Hendrix being mentioned. I'm not trying to say that Cobain or Slash are bad, it's just that of all the guitarists in the world to choose from, picking these two is just plain insulting.
Of course it's my opinion. But these people are serious guitarists and that's what this thread was supposed to be about(or at least thats what was intended, didn't work out, sadly).
^^^^^^^ i dont think this was ever intended to be a serious discussion. and btw..threads like this have been done to death out here. every 2-3 weeks..some thread like this is made.
hey ok ... everyone is entitled to freedom of expression (As long as it doen't curtail anyone else' freedoms) ... so here is mine: Alex Skolnick Marty Friedman Dimebag Darrel Kirk Hammet (in Load/Reload/Metallica) - i feel that earlier albums didn't require his E minor runs + Wahs Eric Johnson Django Rheinhardt (i hope i got his name right) Toni Iommi (esp in Cross Purpose) Randy Rhoads Jake E Lee Zakk Wylde .. man this Ozz fellow always gets the best guiatrists ... and many more ppl ...
well it seems this forum is full of immature ppl who are not flexible enough to accomodate other peoples views .... if someone says he likes kurt cobain/slash/ .... is it really neccesary to rebuke that person and the guitarist he is so fond of?? ..... are u ppl defining greatness? ... to me the concept is relative ... i may like one aspect of one guitarist and one aspect of another ... but i won't go around criticising ppl who like someone I don't. for example......the people who like kurt cobain as a guitarist do more because of his compositions ... not because of the so called "not so tough riffs" that he played .... this guy started a movement with his music ..... think twice before you judge him..... the concept of music is different to different people ... for some it is steve vai playing lightning fast riffs with the orgasmic look on his face .. to some .. it is pink floyd playing comfortably numb .. u can't categorise people based on their choices ..... I am not saying that one should start liking these forms of music or these people ... but when someone says he does ... try to be more open minded and accept it ..
EVER HEARD OF MICHCLEANGELO and GREAT KAT ..... for me they are the best ... NEXT we hav VAI , satch , MALMSTIENE ..... THEN EDDIE VANHALEN , BLACK MORE , PAGE .... JEFF BECK ..... Screw the spellings......
