A court in Kanpur has issued a notice to Wipro chairman Azim Premji after the wife of one of the company's employees alleged her husband had left her because the firm paid him a 'dating allowance.' The chief metropolitan magistrate issued the notice to Premji and Wipro vice president Pratik Kumar in connection with a case filed by Tripti Nigam, a resident of Gwaltoli area, under the new Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005. https://www.rediff.com/money/2006/nov/23wipro.htm
Wow. First of all... "Dating Allowance"? Thats just... Plus even if they do give it how is it Wipro's fault that the woman's husband was cheating on her?
If the courts have taken cognisance of the situation and issued a warrant. Must be something we dont know. I think some thing is amiss here. The warrant must have been issued to her husband and Wipro, a legal entity itself. Azim premji cannot be sent a notice. Perhaps a copy of it must have been sent to Premji.. Ridiculous really........Bangalore is changing to America with American money ....shall i say..
