^Metallica's fine bro, what really makes me want to not change but destroy my past is that i used to listen quite actively to Backstreet boys.......:sigh: It's a mark on my life that can never be erased.....

What crap is wrong with these Rock/Metal "poser" guys?

I used to like MLTR, Backstreet, etc.
Thats coz there music was catchy.

If you all feel that only loud blaring guitars, vocalist making growls no different from a buffalow burping after chewing the cud, makes a good music,
you need to relook at the concept of music.

The only reason why I dont listen that much now to the "pop" (supposedly blasphemous word for a rock music fan), is because I have listenefd ot it too much.
Pretty much the same reason I dont prefer listening to Thrash metal nowadays.

In my view, Thrash Metal is no different from "Pop" genre.

Yeah. I used to listen to Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears (her first album was quite ok), MLTR, Bryan Adams and Christina Aguilera when I was a kid as well. Pop is catchy...there is no denying that. Sometime later I started listening to Def Leppard and later-day (interchangeable with sell-out) Scorpions along with bands like Sting, Seal and R.E.M. I was also a very big Michael Jackson fan.

I am not at all ashamed or disappointed with the bands I used to listen to. In fact I am quite confident that if I had not started actively seeking out new music to listen to I would never have gotten into metal at all. I would have relegated myself to one of those people who regards music as background noise while working and not something that needs serious attention to be fully appreciated.

btw Christina Aguilera has an amazing voice....

Classic pop (bee gees; abba etc) still rule over many rock/metal bands

 

i felt she did a spledid job on "you're beautiful"

totally deserved the grammy she got for it.

What's the point of proving yourself to be such a n00b? You didnt like Dave Mustaine (someone called him Mustang :RollLol: ) And why do you insist on calling Jason Newsted Jayson? Metallica was the "best best" heavy Metal band? Jesus, that shows your depth of knowledge regarding the subject. Ever heard of Rigor Mortis? Or say Blind Guardian? Or Voivod? If you dont know enough about the subject dont state them as facts. If you had said, "In my opinion....." and whatever you just said, i wouldnt have minded.
