    death_metal_fan oh goody, it's a woody!

^ That is not always true.

Metallica were never my introduction to metal. The first metal album I heard was Pantera's 'Cowboys From Hell'. A friend gave me 'Ride The Lightning' a little while later.

(silently thanks my buddy Rohit for introducing me to metal)

The first time I heard metal was when Alfons gave me the video of St. Anger and I was thinking; what crap is this. But then I heard Nothing Else Matters, Fade To Black and Unforgiven and became a Metallica fan.

Ne1 would lik NEM, Unforgiven, Fade to blk or Sanitarium at the first go itself... it kinda brings freshers into metal.... and are 1 of the best too....
But hardcore metalheads prefer songs like whiplash, master of puppets, seek and destroy, wherever i may roam & plenty more which acc. tmo nox us out completely.

Lets see how much of that is true (i want to know how much of its true).

For me, its a big no. I only started caring about them about a year after i got into metal and stopped caring about them about 5 hours later.

Sadly it's true, they are personified as THE metal band and most people are introduced to metal through "I disappear" Or "Nothing else matters" i'm speaking for myself here. It wasnt until after i joined this website that it truly started getting into some good music.
