I just wanted to know where guys here get there avatars from? I've been searching on Google but to no avail. Some people here have got really cool avatars, so I thought that why don't I have a nice one? :
I tried on Google Images, but couldn't find any 50 by 50 pixels one. Can't the admins increase this limitation? :nw:
Yea.. thats the problem on the mostly google searched sites, all the avatars are 56 x 56 or 80 x 80 .. there are very few 50 x 50 avatar present. Yes, Admin. cann't you increase the size of the avatars.?
We have kept 50x50 size in order to reduce the time taken for a page load! Even now, on Dialup, the page takes a lot of time to load! So, increase in this size or the file size shall be taken into consideration, once majority of members have access to Broadband Internet Services! Till then, use the online resizer for your images! Check: https://magick.net4tv.com/MagickStudio/scripts/MagickStudio.cgi =>Thanks to Subhro for this great input regarding Online Resizer! REgards, Zooom..!!
guys .. juz download any pic or animation you want .. then click your 'paint' then open the file ... then click 'Image --> Attributes and then key in 50 by 50 " . It will auto adjust your image/animation and you can then load it remember to save it .. cheers ..
@Zoom - Dennis is right, I tried that site. It does resize the image but it cuts the animation off. @Seelan - I tried that before but it totally spoiled my Zeppelin gif.
Seelan is right.... i did the same thing... but used Adobe for it.... downloaded the picture... reduced the Image size followed by the Canvas size to 50 x 50 pixels using Adobe Photoshop... it should work for any picture file....
that dont work for GIFs.........adobe doesnt even recognise gifs as animation unless u r on adobe image ready......the link zoom posted DOESNT kill the animation so its cool....use it......its a damn cool thing thanx Zoom
The link i gave u works perfectly and doesnt cut the animation! If you guys cant figure it out... mail me/PM me ur avatars for RESIZE! REgards, Zooom..!!
ya its not applicable 4 gifs. evn aftr resizing with da help of da link zoom gav u it might not meet da requirements 4 uploadin ur avatar in igt.. it also has 2 be within 20 or 40 kb of size(i forgot.. chk it) so aftr resizin if u need 2 optimize ur size too.. use Bannershop Gif Animator 5.0.4.. google 4 it.. n get it.
Me, i found it on the Disturbed website, it's been my avatar always and will always be:grin: People identify me by that and this
i m fine with this avatar.though i have many animated gifs im not able to resize it.even if i resize it the animation goes off.i would break them into frames n attach together after resizing but i hardly remember pphotoshop thesedays.
its 19.5 kb.... u can do the same at zoom/subhro's link.....just go on reducing the number of colors.....as it is....u cant make out much at 50x50 so wont be a big deal if u cut down the number of colors........my avtar has just 70 colors
Well, dont know how much this would help but since you been talking about Photoshop etc I think you guys would be well aware of Macromedia's flash It reconizes .gif format and puts them into frames, all you have to do is set the stage to the required size (for eg. 50 x 50) and then resize every frame to cover the stage (which can be done by the help of the 'Align' toolbar). Once done aligning it, Publish it in a .gif format and your done ) Thats what I do for every avatar of mine thats big . Usually time consuming, but once your at it... It's fun to do since you can add your own effects to it. Hope it helps Cheers
