Apoon is not a legitimate marathi word....its slang....mumbai slang....and i think its acutally mumbaiya hindi slang

well... i'm basically a tamilian born and brought up in andhra pradesh - that makes me part telugu my native being allappey in kerala -malayalam now back to my roots - in chennai well ?
Apoon is not Marathi.....similar marathi word is Apan which means "us" or when u refer to someone or urself in a respectable way...similar to "hum" in Hindi.... Tapoon is probably just a spinoff of the same.
