SB owns it... i have tonnes of dunlops..... from tortex to derlins to nylons.....and my fav....the stubby both the standard and big derlins are nice..tortex isnt...wonder how slash uses them :confuse: nylons are amazing for rhythm.... big stubby , killer for lead
hey get jim dunlop picks 0.70 mm for strummin and al im acoustic stuff ..if u are soloin on an electric ..then get get jim dunlop 1 mm picks ..they are nice ..and anythin frm 1-1.5 is k
So the juice of all this is that for lead playing, i keep my Dunlop Jazz III (blacks), while for strumming, I should try out Dunlop Nylons 0.6 to 0.7mm picks. Any better suggestions, keep em coming.. Thanks for xxxxxxtremely useful feedback till now.
i doubt u get .6 nylons i have .73 mm nylons and .88 mm nylons try the stubby...the big stubby.....i love the attack on it
^^^ Dude i just placed an order for a 12 pieces pack of Nylons 0.60mm s on Musiciansfriend.com. They willbe in family's hands within 2 days, while in my hands within this month. I assume ur talking abt getting it locally, so in tht matter, ur right. I cant find no branded stuff in Lahore here... the conditions quite pathetic in this part o' the world!
ive always been a huge tortex fan. i use 1.2 mms almost all the time. but i used to like 0.7s on my acoustic as well. but i guess that jsut me being way too picky. i guess you could take almsot any pick and get used to it soon enough. but well, theres no harm in being picky.
Dude u said tortex, but for WHAT? strumming, or soloing? Plz clarify what guage for what. And remember, im using em on acoustic. Strictly unplugged.
Guyz plz advise... im in urgent need of some good pick. Plz read the first post, and then tell me ur preference with proper reference. Thanks. I've been waiting all night.....
^Strumming Jim Dunlop Tortex Yellow Picks Lead Jim Dunlop Tortex green picks Atleast that's what i use.
ok i use tortex purple for soloing. but on acoustic i guess u should use tortex green. um. i think the pick you use for strumming and soloing should be the same. you get used to one pick and your picking style develops better that way. but thats just my opinion. there are plenty of pros who use diff. picks for strumming and soloing. in which case id reccomend a tortex 0.9mm for soloing (dont know which colour it is) - though serisouly - try to use the same pick for both. you can get it to sound good if you practice.
^^^ Well thats a very good n fine point u just told deathdr. Thanks! But i dont really remember the colour coding right now, so plz tell me their guages. And @disturbed: Dude, u have 1 Kilo-posts! Congrats! (HINT: 1024b = 1Kb)
Ya i checked it out. Found the scale. But still it didnt say anything abt the guage. It said Red is light, Green is medium, Purple is heavy.... (who said anything abt blue?????) People I need the pick for strumming. I've got lead covered up by Dunlop Jazz IIIs. Plz tell me abt a pick which gives least noise alongwith controlled string sound on an unplugged acoustic guitar. Mind u tht I've got a jumbo sized round hole guitar, so every sound is magnified 10 folds....
