what is shredding??

what is this technique??

shredding is not a technique...
its a term brought in by yngwie malmsteen ...
he sometimes plays so fast...that it seems like he is shredding the strings..
hence shred is now a genre where people focus on playin the guitar fast.

the term SHREDDING was brought in by malmsteen ...
people may be playing fast but the term SHRED was what MALMSTEEN started..
he also named sweeping...it was called something else before...but i cant remember exactly what..he just made that technique popular and the name sweep technique carried on from there..

Shredding is when u play so fast that u cant see wht ur fingers are doing..there just doin wht they r supposed to be doin...thts shredding for u
