The N1 has a vintage trem, and a push-pull coil splitting volume knob. The tone is pretty nice. A friend has one, and it's nice to play too.

    13s? Ouch!

    what about the washburn x10
How does that compare to the n series and the squier?

According to me, Washburn's are a no for any sort of vigorous playing. Washburn x10 is a great budget guitar, nice tone and is worth buying if you want it for playing a little softer type of music. They say its good for metal and everyhing but its not always true. But then, thats just me. And for the N1, as far as I know, its known for a clean sound and a beatufull tone as well. Not a very good choice for muddy distorted sounds but awesome for anything else.

I disagree. The N1 is good for a wide variety of sounds. The push-pull knob adds versatility because you have both single coil and humbucker options.

I'd stay away from both, the N1 is ugly as gradma's legs.

Go buy a B.C. Rich Warlock then eh?

I like the N1. If you like it and like the way it plays go for it. I'd much rather have a Washburn than a Squire.

I like the squier california strat. If you set it up well, it can rip your pants off.

Where do you get .13's for electric??

N1 is a good guitar. It sounds and plays pretty well for a guitar in that range. For both clean and distorted sounds.

^^ Just how good is the idea to put a guage 13 string on a N1 or a squier? I doubt if they may hold their shape.
