various forms of representing tabs

    hey i dont understand
    the style of tabs
    e-------------------------------------
    B---7-8-7--7----7-7-8/9--8-7--------
    G---------9---------------------------
    D-------------------------------------
    A-------------------------------------
    E-------------------------------------

    ijust understand following form
    G G#_GFG_ G G G#_G#A(SLIDE)_G#G

    can someone help me to relate above two forms.
    please,it would be an obligation!!!!!!

    would indicate the 7th fret played on the B string. That would mean a F# note.
    --8/9-- indicates a slide from the 8th fret to the 9th fret.
    and I suggest you get used to this, because most songs on the net are posted in such tab notation. also, wrong forum.
