Which Album do you consider teh best And which song u feel is his masterpiece. Especially if you wudve seen his live shows, am sure you will become his fan. Besides, he is great rhythm player as well as leads. Ritchie Blackmore, Toni Iommi, Eric Clapton <--- in leagues of such ppl Oh how could I forget. This d00d has one of the most awesome guitar tone.
Atlast another Van Halen fan. I actually dont have a favorite album cause every album seems to have something different but i like all the same. But if i had to choose i would go for 1984 - Hot for teacher
1984 is a nice album with one of my fave song Jump. can ne1 tell me from which album is the song; right now?
I like F.U.C.K, 1984 and Van Halen III. Van Halen III is pretty different with Gary Cherone's vocals. Eddie Van Halen is :nw: :nw: :nw: .
BTW. It's off topic. I met a guy who had seen Jimi Hendrix Live. Can you believe that... He was telling me about the way the show went and things like that. We had a great time discussing hippie era music.
Taht reminds me - I have to get hold of that album PHUCK P.S.: more than discussing it, I would love to BE IN HIPPY ERA!
I found Van Halen boring.. Eddies guitar is the only thing in the band. The stupid lyrics really put me off.
van halen is a good time rock n roll band..i dont think they ever took themselves "really" seriously..if u see their live shows u will know that they just have a lot of fun..and get off on givin ppl a good time.. the way eddie thinks has changed over the years..i guess..in his earlier interviews he used to say..that the music holds out on its own..but when vhIII came out..he said that he was proud of the album coz the lyrics came first.. michael anthony, alex van halen and eddie are a very tight unit and stick like glue while playing together without a band a guitar player is nothin.. eddie was great because van halen was great. sure eddie used to come up with the basic riffs..but then the whole band made it a song.. an eddie quote from the early days..goes somethin like this.. "for us to come up with a song..i first come up with a basic riff, david writes the lyrics, alex names the song..and michael goes to disneyland to play"lol..not word to word...but hillarious anyways. i love classic vh with roth ...but i prefer sammy voice live..but roth is probably a greater showman than him.. ahh i can still write loads of stuff. will type more later.
ok..screw it.. i personally feel all of vh albums have somethin to offer. i m currently listenin to assorted tracks from 78,84,balance,5150,f.u.c.k,women and children first. vh concerts i have van halen-live without a net(dvd) with sammy hagar..the 5150 tour in new haven van halen-balance tour(payperview) toronto i will be gettin the vanhalen-right here right now concert and van halen--the van halen story dvds soon i guess. i also had the concert with ozzy where jake e lee made his debut..some us music festival where van halen also played...i think i deleted it off my comp by mistake..ahh. i also have and seen quite a few eddie and vh bootlegs.. if anyone has anythin to share plz do so.
he had oral cancer..and a part of his tounge was taken off i think.. theres more to eddie than eruption..but eruption did make ppl from the guitar world to sit up and take notice.. he was just warming up and eruption was somethin he used to do in his solo spot in gigs.. the producer then saw him practicin..and said he wanted to put that on the record.. eddie in one interview said that theres actually a mistake in there..
