dunno much from hindi, but heres a few more from tamil other than what you've mentioned: 1. Paruvame from Nenjathai Killathe (great rhythm in this song, with a very beautiful arpeggio riff interlude) 2. Maegam kottatum from Enakkul oruvan (nice background riff throughout song) 3. Raaja raaja chozhan from Rettai vaal kuruvi (nice interludes, rhythm) 4. Kanna Vanthu from Rettai Vall Kuruvi (great chords and arpeggios) 5. Nila adhu vaanathu maela from Nayagan (nice rhythm. does anyone have the chords for this?) 6. Nalam Vaazha from Marupadiyum (great interludes) 7. Hey Aatha from Payanangal Mudivathillai (whacky interludes and riffs!) 8. Ponmaane from O Maane Maane (great rhythm, nice 'light music' kinda song) And each of those songs has a bass line to die for! Is it just coincidence that every one of them is by Ilayaraja? hmm... I'm biased... To do justice, heres a couple from Rahman: 9. Uyirum Neeye from Pavithra (Classic song! nice guitar work) 10. Kandukonden Kandukonden from Kandukonden Kandukonden (nice chords, riff)
btw, there are lots of old songs both in Hindi and Tamil that have nice guitar work. These are the kinda songs you can just take an acoustic and strum and sing with friends. The problem is, recent songs use so much techno music there is no "guitar feel" to them anymore. Even if they use guitars, its so heavily processed that it sounds like somehting else. Even the bass is so heavily processed!

I totally agree with u ananth that these new songs have no live feel to it.. everything is programmed and sequenced. the so called remixes (which are not remixes but just just poorly executed covers) are the worst culprits. maverick tnx for reminding for reminding me that rd songs had cool guitars.. some more: 1> lekar hum 2> Duniya Mein Tamil: 1> vanitha mani from vikram 2> songs from anjali - vegam vegam, pattuku paatu etc 3> vazha vaikum kathaluku from apoorva sakotharargal (cool bass riffs) again all ilayaraja and one old msv # 4> engeyum eppodum with cool aadu paambe guitar lead
even all luck ali songs have some good work !!! same with euphoria ... dun know much abt tamil songs .
As far as hindi songs go, some paki bands have really come with great songs with cool guitar pieces. bands like junoon, strings are great.
