There I shall remain

So I logged in after a long time to post something I wrote to reconcile with my girlfriend...
It did work, if so you ask.

Sometimes the past may creep on us,
Rear its ugly head and scare,
But there I'll be, my arms around you,
Lest it come forth and dare.

Sometimes I might be difficult for you,
For you to rejoin your strings with mine,
And shine the truth in my eyes,
Our hearts are one in time.
And the tempest may blow like the november,
But our love blooms like june
Which croons the night full of life
With a light and lively tune.

And while the distance may seem unconquerable,
As you see me failing more and more,
Know that, there, I shall remain,
    Waiting, just beyond the door.
