    Song- The Trooper
    Artist- Iron Maiden
    Yahoo! Wonderful song, blasting intro, mind blowing bass, and...the first song I figured out completely on my own!
    Have tons of fun...and pls tell me if its OK...
    Code:
    Strumming pattern for intro...and rest of the song except for "You'll take my life...no turning back" and the solo part.
    d d d u
    In the first two down strums, focus on upper half of the strings (rather,only 6th string); in the third and fourth strums, play all the strings.

    ==(Intro)==
    Play this four times...
    Em D C
    ...then fill in with this solo bit for four times again...
    E|-----------------
    A|-----------------
    D|--2---4-----4----
    G|----0---4-0---0--
    B|-----------------
    e|-----------------
    ...and immediately start off with the following bit...

    ==("You'll take my life...there's no turning back")==
    Play d d d d once whenever I've written the chords, first three for the first chord and last one
    for the second chord. Dont forget to palm mute immediately after playing the second one! In the
    last line, play C in three downstrums, then begin the next part immediately.
    					   D Em
    You'll take my life but I'll take yours too,
    					        D C
    You'll fire your musket but I'll run you through
    					  D Em
    So when you're waiting for our next attack
    				       C
    You better stand theres no turnin' back

    ==(Main)==
    Here is the tricky bit, requiring huge practice of triplets. Chords are more or less same as the previous section...
    Em
    The bugle sounds and the charge begins
    				   D C
    But on this battlefield no one wins
    					  D Em
    The smell of acrid smoke and horses breath

    As we plunge on into certain death.

    ...the thing to keep in mind is...
    Play Em *only* on 5th and 4th strings, u and d and u and d [I]ad nauseum[/I]...
    Whenever you have to play D, play it thrice in quick succession.
    So you eventually get a rythm of sorts...
    Em or C		    D     Em or C
    1 & 2 & 1 & 2 & 1 & 1-2-3 1 & 2 & 1
    ...and so on.

    ==(Mid-Song Solo)==
    Still working on this one...its tough figuring it out on an accoustic guitar! :P

    ==(Lyrics)==
    You'll take my life but I'll take yours too
    You'll fire your musket but I'll run you through
    So when you're waiting for the next attack
    You'd better stand there's no turning back.

    The bugle sounds and the charge begins
    But on this battlefield no one wins
    The smell of acrid smoke and horses breath
    As I plunge on into certain death.

    The horse he sweats with fear we break to run
    The mighty roar of the Russian guns
    And as we race towards the human wall
    The screams of pain as my comrades fall

    We hurdle bodies that lay on the ground
    And the Russians fire another round
    We get so near yet so far away
    We won't live to fight another day.

    <solo>

    We get so close near enough to fight
    When a Russian gets me in his sights
    He pulls the trigger and I feel the blow
    A burst of rounds take my horse below.

    And as I lay there gazing at the sky
    My body's numb and my throat is dry
    And as I lay forgotten and alone
    Without a tear I draw my parting groan

    Enjoy! :rock:

    Aye, no. I went through the trouble of tabbing it only because there were no entries for chords of The Trooper on UG! I'm posting this there, next.
