Another question: How is Dream theater prog? Just because of long, complex songs? I mean, i like them to some extent but find them to be quite bland, and being the "frontrunner" or prog metal, quite uninnovative (more made up words to come). Whadchya say?
Depends on which DT album you have listened to. Octavarium and Train Of Thought are not remotly Prog. Check out 6Degrees or Scenes from a Memory. These two albums are good. I guess they earned the frontrunner tag after SFAM.Anyways, I really dont like Prog Metal too much. DT have some variety and 6DOIT,SFAM are excellent albums but bands like Symphony X are soo bland, its unbelievable. Though I am listening to Riverside right now, this is nice.
Random, I had just read it somewhere and thought it was pretty interesting. But in no way do Tool and Crimson sound the same, which is pretty cool.
Yeah, just like Allan Holdsworth and Special Defects. (check out special defects, mind opening stuff)
Not really. btw: You were damn right about riverside. Second life syndrome kicks ass!!! Thanks for the recommendatioon.
Hey, anybody except chintan9 and myself who's a pain of salvation fan? Or again, does anybody else know pain of salvation here? ps: Are you going to start a new genre called progressive bhangra now? :
