Rather its kinda obvious for a metal fan to label anything usual as prog music. The clip was progressive, yes, but it kinda forgot about the music part. PS: Im was just pulling your leg, but now since you attacked my appetite for prog I scream 'BLODDY MURDER!!!!!!!!!!!'
Erm, no. I didnt label this as prog. I never will. EDIT: If this has to be labelled, then it'll be either avant garde or the thread title :
Says a guy who said: " Any thing without progressive influences sucks" (or words to that order). Now STFU hbbt: Talking of ambience, how many of you are familiar with merzbow or genocide organ?
Aha! What did you say this thread was [american-nasal]about[/american-nasal]? :RollLol: C'mon tell me!
ps: this is what it roughly looks like to be in a sunn O))) concert. Roughly because, the concert that i went to had a MUCH more ritualistic feel. It was almost like a dance (well, a dark version but anyway). And they all wore black robes. Notice the candles (;
Lol@a monk playing guitar. The show looks pretty awesome though. I was browsing through Wiki about Drone music and found out that Fripp is considered as one of the earliest Drone Musicians, needless to say I 'got hold' of the album, it wasnt anything like Sunn O though. The albums name is No Pussyfootin, its different.
^^Holy shit..:shock: That is SOOO cool. :dance: if i ever get a chance im goin to hook up with one of their concerts..that looks soo awesome. Do you know of any that are gonna hit around here..in the states?
Has your opinion on drone changed now? By the way, the guy who's considered to be at the start of this movement is Dylan Carlson from Earth. Will check out the Fripp album soon. @petunia: Look out for them. Theyre based in the US so theyll be touring quite often. Along with earth and a few other ambient bands most probably (as they did here)
Lol, nope my opinion hasnt changed. I heard No Pussyfootin only once, and itll be a long time after which i intentionally hear it again. Dont get me wrong, its different...but not exactly my type.
