Going on a trek in Sandakphu in Darjeeling, or "lake trek" in Sikkim or some other similar....yea man...since ive been to sikkim and neighbours...ive bneen in luv wid the place....

 

if you have been to Darjeeling and Sikkim then please post your experiences in a nutshell, in the "back home again" thread by Asmodeus.

week in ANDAMAN/Lakshadweep (only sight seeing, no water sports like snorkelling) is one more that comes to my mind....

and i think the "forest bunglow" bit in #9, should have been a seperate option in itself - we have a lot of "animal / wildlife / bird santuary" options in this country from the rhino tours in Kaziranga, the Elephant trips in Periyar, Lions in Gir, Tigers in Sundarbans, Ranthambore, Bhandavgarh, Corbett and Kanha + others too.

In this poll i'll have to go with the circuit in MP or Orissa...i love the old Indian Cities..i'd love to Nalanda AND/OR Takshashila...
My other option wud have been camel safari in Rajasthan...love the desert...basically i love remote places........anyone (watches/used to watch) lonely planet here?...i just love it...

- mp (ujjain, mandu, indore, bhopal+, gwalior, orcha)
- goa
- maharashtra (ajanta, ellora, nagpur)
- west bengal (darjeeling, vishnupur)
- sikkim
- andhra pradesh (hyderabad)


and now halebid-puttadakkal-hampi-mahabaleswar !!!

 

y is there a + sign after bhopal...?? and yea....ive been to MP a lot...its my native place....and frm ur list only places i hav visited are..
- west bengal (darjeeling, vishnupur) and silliguri
- sikkim
- rajasthan (jaisalmer, jaipur, jodhpur, chitor) and mount abu...stayed in Jaipur for 1st 8 yrs of my life
- himacal pradesh (shimla, kulu, manali, rotang) and dallhousie....near HP ive been to punjab...stayed in Chandigarh for 6 yrs...

other than those ive visited Kashmir....no haridwar, rishikesh for me...no holy places....and no goa...coz i hate beaches......

thats really great , i wish i could explore india as much as you have done , in india i ve been to juss few places , mostly i travell cos of work and i hardly get anytime to leisure around but surely i work with pleasure , so no regrets ...

my main idea of holiday in india is sleep till afternoons , wake up around 10 / 11 ish - after lunch , go out shopping / movies etc etc ...

come back by evening , going out for some nice place / joints for drinks n dinner , come back home - chat with friends , family , folks and fade the nite away with some liquer or wine ...

bhopal+ = bhopal city, sanchi, udaygiri, heliodorus pillar, bhimbetika caves, bhojpur temple

i have been to mt abu - very nice place - but not in the last year. same with mcleodgunj in hp.

am glad to know you visited vishnupur - nice place with unique monuments but ignored.



oh i visited a lot more places - i was just listing what i did/covered in the past year.
