lol @notty @abhi - thanx fer the link - real helpful - i used to pronounce it as appregio - now i kno its (Ar-PED-ji-oe)... thanx....
Yes, thats what we were talking about. The only difference being I was talking about playing the chord notes all over the fretboard and not just around the chord shape.
^The difference is that if you say "Holding a Chord and playing its notes distinctly" is misleading .. If you see someone who's playin the notes all over the fretboard u'll be like .. Eh.. that's not an arpeggio even though it might be .. Got it ?
dude - i understand that.... all im askin is - holdin a chord and playin it distinctly or spreadin its notes and then playin is the same thing...:
okay, there are two files in the zip file. The first one arp1 is what abhi was calling "ad-libbing". Its holding the chord and just hitting the notes. The second one is a bit of the last solo from Dire Strait's "Sultans of Swing"....the last arpeggio which apparently is every guitarists dream. I didnt play it very well but the fast part is actually 3 arpeggios played one after the other....Dm, Bb and C major arpeggios. I havent played this song in ages and its obvious when you hear the solo. I think this should at least give you the difference between holding the chord and plucking the notes or just playing the notes and not hold the chord really.
u guessed rite.... i do have a VERY old LP of em...and i got a LP record player from 1950 sumthin.... but im too lazy i think...
even i had to learn arpejjio for playin few of jals' songs like rangon mei unplugged...teri yaad....bikhra hun.....panchi........ek din.... first used tht three string funda...:d lollololol
