I've read much of the same overwhelming evidence from a variety of sources online that reveals the Taj Mahal to be an ancient Shiva temple aka Tejo Mahalaya, built centuries before Shah Jahan's reign. However, we have not heard much about it because it was banned by the corrupt and power crazed Congress government of Bharat who did not want to alienate their precious minority vote bank. discuss... the opening paragraph at https://www.flex.com/~jai/satyamevajayate/tejo.html is enuff to make me believe that this is nothing but a narrow-minded propaganda!.. ...taj mahal was built as a symbol of love.. the very design of the building reflects the islamic architecture at its very best, the dome and the minarets.. it is a beauty to be cherished not to be bashed and stamped by some idiotic conspiracy theories...if it was a hindu temple and shah jahan was aware of that fact ... then he made the bloodiest mistake of his life ( i wonder why didnt the hindu dignataries of the court raised any voices if this was the case.. hmmmm ) .. if it wasnt a hindu temple and it was built from scratch to serve the purpose of a resting place for his wife... then well and good he made bloody well job of it

Was built by Shah Jehan, brilliant piece of architecture, that's all. No stupid theories about it being an ancient temple or anything. Atleast i dont believe in them.

Its a beautiful structure. We Indians take pride in it. Its a symbol for love. Thats about it. Its got nothing to do with religion in my opinion.
We can't escape from controversies, it's a part of our life. We are to face all that. But as Tejas said we all are really proud of the Taj. It's a symbol of Love.
it sure is beautiful, but kills when you visit it in the summer. marble...summer...bare feet ....ouch.
taj mahal just means love....i went to see it last summer and man no foto can show its true beauty...you become speechless to see the delicate work and dedication put into building it
it is a well established fact that the moghuls used the strong foundations of pre existing hindu structures, especially hindu temples to build thier own.. as it served 2 purposes.. strong structures and spread of islam. aurangazeb was the worst amongst the moghuls in this respect.. cause he wasnt even a good architect unlike shah jahan, all he did was demolish : taj mahal, qutub minar.. numerious mosques.. all built over demolished pre existing structures, especially temples. I think thats a well established fact. the hindu zealots in VHP now want to mimic the moghuls and taliban and want to demolish what people with 15th and 16th century mentality did 500 years ago now in the 21st century. thats a stupid thing and a well established fact as well. ne ways this is IGT dunno what this thread is doing here.
