    Rep:

    Example: (no particular song)

    E----------7-
    A--------1---
    D--------1---
    G------3-----
    B----2-------
    e--1---------

    The e,B,G,D,A,E mean the sting number 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 (thinnest is 1, thickest is 6).

    The numbers on the lines are the numbers of the specific fret.

    Read all six lines at once left to right. The one left most is played first irrespective of which string it is on. If they line up then play then together (chord).

    Hammer on, pull offs and glides are usually written as h,p and s

    Search for song you want in the Hindi forum.

    Kusuma you wanna play the pieces or the whole songs...
    like for playing u just required to know the frets and the strings..
    but the song playing requires the knowledge of chords too..
    the classical music sa, re, ga, ma goes like this
    C = sa,D = re,E = ga,F = ma,G = pa,A = dha,B = ni
    you can play all these on the fret board on different locations.

    sorry of the late reply

    Well, for the most part, if the classical scale be considered,
    there is an an equivalence with the C Major scale.

    So
    C=Sa
    D=Re
    E=Ga
    F=Ma
    G=Pa
    A=Dha
    B=Ni
    C=Sa (higher)

    so for the chromatic scale from C, we may have:
    C=Sa
    C#=komal Re
    D=Re
    D#=komal Ga
    E=Ga
    F=Ma
    F#=komal Pa
    G=Pa
    G#=komal Dha
    A=Dha
    A#=komal Ni
    B=Ni
    C=Sa (higher)

    If you have any song that is not in C, transpose it into C and apply the above conversion.
    To transpose, diminish or raise all the notes by the same number of semitones. (1 semitone is the distance between a note and is sharp or flat).

    To learn Hindi movie songs in classical, you need teacher who will do this for you. If you do not want that, I would strongly advise getting yourself acquainted with the western scales. Its not at all difficult and the transition is very easy. I learned in the reverse way.
