soo, heres what i'm planning on doing for the next four months....everyday, i've already started, and i go way past the time limits, but what do you guys think? I was wondering if i should just head straight into economy picking without really working on alternate picking?

    Finger Stretching Excercises 20-30 min

    Scale Excercises 20 min

    Learn new chord 10 min

    Chord switching excercises 10 min

learn new scale or scale position 5 min

run through previous scales 10 min

    Alternate picking excercises 20 min

    practice songs ? mins

    Thanks!

well a nice shedule, but reduce the time of streching excercises, cause u'll already get it when practicing scales etc.

    my recommended schedule

    Finger Stretching Excercises 5-15 min

    Scale Excercises 30 min

    Learn new chord 20 min

Chord switching excercises 20 min(this shud be done alternate days)

learn new scale or scale position 15 min

run through previous scales 15 min

    Alternate picking excercises 20 min

practice songs - depends whenever u have time,

lead takes about 20 mins daikly for 3-4 days, to master.
while chord ones may take 2-3 days with 20 min daily.

and see that when u learn chord songs, u are also learning chord switching with them,so find some songs which have chord changes u can't do already.

and i don't think this schedule thing works. u need to estimate ur progress daily and allot time on that basis.

but still just try the schedule.

Think you should get your alternate picking right before you move to economy or sweep picking

Should really work on the spiders and scale exercises first
Try to take it slow, theres no point in simply playing these fast(accuracy is more important here) and get you technique correct before you go into playing leads
    here are some useful links
Try to follow the correct techniques when doin exercises otherwise you are probably just wasting your time

    thats the best advice
if you are trying to learn by yourself you have to find a way that works for you best
Just stick with the schedule for 2 weeks and see if its working for you..
