Is there any decent sound card out there for abt 2k And is it possible to get distortion and other effects with sound card in my budget Also pls enlighten me on what kind of card will give me real time effects with Cubase etc
i think he is looking for a good one so that he can plug his guitar to his pc get the effects he wishes to have with his guitar n also so that when he records it sounds music not noise so thats y he is willing to spend 2k
I want some thing which has low latency and can support realtime effects Is it possible with 300 Rs card also tell me something about Full duplex
^NO. Rs 300 Soundcard is will be similar to your intel motherboard's sound card. Infact if your Intel Mboard is genuine then maybe the built in soundcard is better. Are you really getting latency problems wiht motherboard soundcard?
I get latency when i try to use effects with cubase etc Woudnt a good sound card reduce this Or do i need some other hardware BTW i dont have intel motherboard
I have creative SB Live! 5.1. It is decent enuff but i guess it was for 4-5K two years back. Now it should be cheapr. Check out soundcards by Creative. They are generaely cheaper and better. Ofcourse if you want a better set-up then some thing of this sort is necesary: https://www.zzounds.com/item--MDOAP2496 BTW check this out: https://www.stgd.ch/audiotrak/Maya44MKII/Maya44MKII.html It is supposed to be good and cheper too. On if the good thing is that it has 1/4" jacks/sockets.

^ LOL to all of you. Creative makes soundcards for a differnet purpose (which is = genereal home threatre listening). Of course Creative soundcard can handle the Digital Audio Workstation demands. However the Soundcards I mentioned are built specially for doing the mixing and recording work. Have very low latency and superioir SnR, and resolution.
Yes. Plug your guitar to Line-in port. And your microphone to microphone port (duh!) When you record - record either the wave signal (check if you get both sounds - mic as well as guitar), or usually there is some option like "record what I am hearing" That will do your job.
