hmmm...a slight modification...well...i might agree with you for the 1st two lines...because somewhere it felt as if he's playing the E chord (specially at the part "Hathon ki[C#m]...lakiron mien[E]"), and somewhere it sounded like C#m...

then the part "Koi jaanay...na maanay...yeh saath hay kitna haseen...", I'm pretty sure that this line ends with the [C#m] chord at the word "haseen" instead of the chord...

Then about the main verse..."Kash yeh pal thum jayen........." all the way to the end, I'll have to disagree with my friend. It's clearly [C#m]...[E]......[A]...can't miss it!
