I've been into quite a lot of blues and pentatonic licks lately... I have seen and heard players use staccado to quickly mute their notes during string bending mostly in blues and pentatonic sequences... How do they do that? I mean, If i release the pressure off my fingers, how do I hold the bend??

By keeping the string bent but raising the finger a little bit.

You are not supposed to release any pressure.

There are three orthogonal movements: up and down the fret = fret 1 to fret 24

Up and down vertically = string e to String E

In and out horizontally = string in contact with Fret board to string not in contact with fret board.

All the three are independent movements.
