Hi guys, I am a beginner guitarist. I have learnt some basic chords such as A, C, D, G, Emin, Amin, Dmin, and it'll be great if there are some simple songs to play. There are tons of resources all over the net for English songs using very few chords (around 3-5 in one song), but there aren't many for Tamil, or Indian songs in general. There are lots of great songs posted both here and in the Indian Keyboards forum, but a lot of them are fairly complicated. Could someone post songs that are simple, ie using 3-5 chords for the whole song, and using just major and minor chords? I'm not very familiar with English songs, so unless I play nursery rhymes I'm just strumming to songs I've never heard before. Would be really great if I can find some Tamil songs with simple chords. From what I dug through the forums, Suttum Vizhi Sudare seems to be a fairly simple song, using just 4 chords throughout. Even Hindi/Telugu songs are fine (I'm more likely to know them than English songs anyway ) Thanks a lot!

Try Oh Shanti, it's got some complicated chords but here's an easier version: Verse: C C Am G Em F G G and the chorus goes: Dm C G Oh Shanti, Shanti, oh Shanti! Then the chorus just repeats for each of its four lines. I will try to find a Tamil transposition of the song to write it out properly, but I'm American and don't really know Tamil at all, so it might be kind of scary if I tried to write out the song for you in Tamil. Give it a try though! It's easy and aside from the F, all my beginner guitar students can play it.
