After months of dedicated detective work, I managed to get the guy's phone number and went over to his place to discuss starting classes with him. After discussing stuff and deciding to start from next week, the dude started showing me his guitars, at which point my jaw just hung open and stayed there They included: A 1959 Fender Stratocaster (which would go on auction on ebay now for $20000 plus!) A 60s Gibson Les Paul flametop 2 Yamaha SA models-ES 335 type guitars An Ibanez George Benson signature 2 Ovations A 100 year old Gibson acoustic Around 15 more acoustic and classical guitars Completely floored.
He asked me to play through a 5 W Fender practice amp about the size of a tiffin box. Dunno what else he has. Couldn't see anything else in the room. And all you could say to a '58 Strat is 'hmm'??
A '58 STRAT !!! My god. I really envy this guy. Even Eric Johnson plays the '58 instead of his signature fender for recordings. This is one sweet guitar.
Thosekinda amps give a very tight sound which i love. Just distort that amp to medium to high gain and you'll have a lovely blues setting. I tried using small computer speakers and i loved it.
@ Wizard: He seemed like a sweet old guy when we met. Strictness ka to classes start karne pe pata chalega. And he said the Gibson is completely playable. @Sridhar: What is scarier is that he actually bought it in '58. He's close to 80 I think.
But Remember. Son inherits : : : . Grandsons will get some candy, lolipops and a biscuit packet. Plus lots of kisses from the old man. :
If hindirox was here he would say " oh I know this guy Bismarck, i used to jam in his band. We jammed on some Children of bodom songs"
^ LOL ^ LMAO + he will give whatever his grandsons want, even if it means kicking the son out of his will
That's incomplete. Chintan, always finish what you want to say. You forgot that he also taught him those COD solos. And Hindirox actually gifted that '59 Fender to him.
