Smoking.

I live in a small city... Too many trees, not even a trace of pollution. But even in large cities, everyone has to inhale the polluted air, not only non-smokers. If ever in my life i'll like to have a high, i would rather go for nicotine patches. Safe and more intoxicating.

About being melodramatic,"I don't care if someone smokes away from public. I won't just go upto someone to fight, i don't care about them, its me i care about. I hate it when someone breaches my privacy and rights.

I started smoking about 4 yrs back. I am really addicted to smoking now. I try to quit it everyday because smoking is bad for health..... and ofcourse it has got nothing to do with coolness.

But till now i could not quit smoking. I can reduce it to about 4 per day but cant take it down to ZERO.

Now on an average I smoke about 8 to 10 cigarettes every day.

Can anyone suggest me names of any medicine to help quit smoking? I have got some names but those are not available in local medicine shops.
 
There is only one sure shot medicine for most of the addictions:

WILL POWER.

If you dont have it, then forget it. It'll come back

@Tito: obviously the willpower is stagnant or else you would have quit long ago. So alpha's advice is out of the question. I suggest you look into herbal remedies.. there are some herbs that have been on the production line for several years in order to cut down on addictions and such. And because they are herbal they dont have many serious side effects or anything like that..
Another thing you can try out are the smokeRx products.. they are the best quit-smoking aids in the US.
Im sure you can find themin the indian pharm markets there. If you dont and if you are serious about quitting then i suggest you order them online.

well regarding smoking.. i used to smoke like crazy for 8 years.. now i hv quit.. and i m really really proud that i could do that.. i will say in one short line.. "somking suxx big time"
 
Lack of freedom.. I'd say it is one of the reasons, but not the only one.
Majority of people I know started off smoking or increased the frequency because of..
- Nothing to do (MOST!!)
- Got bored in college
- Sleepy at work
- The real f.ucked one's do believe in a ciggie putting them at comfort

It is most definitely perceived as cool by many[period]


I don't smoke so..

- Gee! Whats wrong with you mate?

[Why don't you smoke anyway]
- Haven't found a reason to start off yet

Smoking in public places banned?... or not banned,. that shit ain't gonna work in India EVER!
