"Signature" brand guitar.

    Oh, and another thing. While having a good teacher>having no teacher, having a shitty teacher<having no teacher. I still remember the time I had to tell a "teacher taught" guitarist (supposedly two years more experienced than me) that you're not supposed to play the lowest two strings for an open D major chord.

    Where is this discussion heading?
    @OP: Dude get urself a yamaha 310 or 370.. and start learning.. Without having played any guitar till now you wont be able to find any difference between either.. but at the end of the day u'll have a good guitar to begin with..and make sure you buy it from an authorized dealer and get the warranty card.
    in case u buy a signature,givson,hofner hobner etc u'll come back again after sometime saying u wanna upgrade to a yamaha, takamine fender etc just coz you have it in ur mind now that they're better guitars..

    unless you tune to drop D. :p

    or use the open 5th string as a pedal tone.

    you're technically still correct though.
