A complete layman's argument (both your's and mine which follows) but using the same general knowledge that you have, memory is dependent on the brain is dependent on the 100 billion or so cells in the brain and cells age as well and their functioning slowly deteriorates as well just as does every other type of cell in the body, aye? I'll be waiting for the link and that's a silly statement coming from you that if you dont use your brain enough your memory "will go down", i understand what you're getting at though, if you dont cogniscently keep using your brain your efficiency will go down. The capacity always remains.
