^lol, yeah angel  Best advice, however let me be a jerk and complicate matters. Check out volume, tone knobs, pickups, pickup switch, intonation and the setup in general. PLUG the guitar IN and play and see. Essential, dont fall for it's looks, it's the sound you want.

ask d00d the reason for ditching his guitar.

If it sounds fake or you smell a prob, just walk away.

The best reason for ditching a guitar is upgradation.
I would ditch my Givson anyday now, coz I have (not quite but in a week) a new Tulsi custom.

So why am I dithcing my old one? Coz there is a prob with the Intonation. + the action is too high, If I reduce action, it will start buzzing.

Interview the person who is trying to sell you the stuff.

and do make sure how along has he kept the guitar for. and better check all the knobs and controls on the guitar. By the way which guitar is he seling serch on the net the price and do hear some demos to c how the sound might be. make sure nothing is wrong with the bridge or its pickup.
