That's close, but not close enough.

    Bandbaaja sounds about right.

This is how I'd play it:

    E----------------------------
    B-----------------3-2----------
    G-------2---------------2-------
    D--2/4---------2------------------
    A----------0--------------------
    E----------------------------

I think KrishnaG has nailed it with

    e---------------------------------------------------
    B-----------------8-7----------------------8--7--
    G-------7-----7-----------7----------7-----7--------
    D--7h-9----7--------------------7h-9----7----------
    A---------------------------------------------------
    E---------------------------------------------------

There are several reasons for this the first being that the chords are of the key of D major. As such a D major scale is best suited for this.

The second reason is the chords of the D major scale are D-Em-F%u266Fm-G-A-Bm-C%u266Fdim
of these the chord progression uses D-A-F#m-Bm. and the notes in this riff are A-B-D-F#-G which are the root notes of our chords except G (the G is a blue note / passing note not to be used to start or end a riff as it will sound bad) so this will sound great over all the chords.

And the third reason is well listen to KrishnaG's recording its ban on.

thx all for the comments! (+ve and -ve !!!)...
yes the lead i played is not exact match of the song...and is something i made up after listening to it couple of times.....i will be happy if you can atleast make out that its from the very same song ;-).....
and for the strumming pattern...u have to give a keen ear to the song to pick up the pattern....
what i played is this....(tho it can be done in many different ways)
    d d u ud

    thx!
    krishna

for the intro hold all strings at 2nd fret with first finger and play like this

    E/------------------------------------------------------------------
    B/--------------------3--2------------------------------3--2---------
    G/------2------2------------2---------2-------2-----------------------
    D/--2h4---2h4--2-----------------2h4----2h4--2--------------------
    A/------------------------------------------------------------------
    E/------------------------------------------------------------------
