hi , i basically record from a computer headset which has a mike attached , but offlate the quality of recording is not turning out good. Can someone suggest a superior mike with which i can record on the computer. .
The headphone mic's are one of the worst quality mics there are, certainly for recording purposes. If you want to make some good recordings, you then have to buy a professional mic, but they are very, very expensive. If you can afford, you certainly have to go for such a mic, otherwise i suggest to start with a good karaoke mic, for homerecordings these mics are good enough! Just read this to find out some more about microphones and all about home recordings: https://www.tweakheadz.com/microphones_for_the_home_studio.htm Btw, i've made some recordings using a karaoke mic, i don't own a professional mic, just listen to my recordings and decide if you are satisfied with the quality, otherwise you should go for a professional mic!!! https://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=645920
I can't afford a professional mic, and don't really need one either. How much would a karaoke mic cost in India?
I really don't know how much it will cost in India, i'm from the Netherlands and here i can buy it for ca. 10-20 Euro!
budget = phillips. Those are ****ing awesome IMO. Ive got 3 of them for band recording. Costs about 200 bucks each got money? shure SM 57 although i use a PG57
I could use the edit button if it did not show as the quote button when I needed it! Thanks for point it out though
All the pro mic that you get will be XLR. Which means 3 pin balanced output. However for plugging to your amp, you require a single 1/4" jack, or single 1/8" jack for plugging to comp. So you require certain wiring knowledge and some soldering skills. Crypt: you can get teh mic from me, if you want. Its a Nady SP-1
has anyone used Samson C01U Condenser USB Microphone , how are usb mics? i dont have an amp so i would prefer a usb /analogue connecting mic for the computer.
Hey Smitzonian, before you decide to buy an USB microphone just take a look here: https://www.recordingreview.com/articles/blogs/84/Why-I-Dont-Recommend-USB-Microphones.html
