    I think the song is in the Dm scale and not Cm

    What I see in everyone's suggestion is that song starts with Cm & Gm. More appropriate shift is to Bb.

    Have you tried transcribing from the song or have you reharmonized?
    There are several differences compared to the original.
    I do agree about the Bb in the 1st line though.

    You're absolutely right :)
    In fact it all started with me sitting down to decipher the notes but then the rhythmic twanging empowered me to bring out these :p
    Agree with the word reharmonization.
