hey can somebody please post the strumming pattern of Papa kehte hain -QSQT.... an audio clip would be really helpful... i tried listening to the song and then playing it.... but somehow... i m really having problem with the speed of rhythm... and also a really hard time in figuring out when to change the chords after how many strumming... please help me out here.... thanks in advance
hey that article is good. though strumming is not a problem to me for all the music, but i do get struck some times. e.g. how would you play Do Dil... from pardes ?
NO Problem, My pleasure if you found it to be right. Just one tip. Once you get to playing that strumming pattern freely, try to do some changes to it. And listen to the ANTRA of Papa Kehte Hain carefully. The first 2 lines that he sings in a soft tone, has the guitar chords playing in a muted manner. just keep your palm on the bridge, slightly touching the strings, and play the same pattern.
Please put this question in a different thread, will answer it there. SO that people find it easier to search.
^^ yeah i agree my song does not resemble 100% the original version but sounds better hey bandbaaja do u know how to read music?ie the melodies n so on in that 5 lines things n so on if yes can u plzzzzzzzz post some learning tips in beginners forum i have a book on it n have been trying to learn that thing too diff they use too many technical terms am not pro so have diff thnx
Yes i do a bit. Its called STAFF NOTATIONS I started learning it, got a hang of it and then got really bored of it. I can read upto Grade 3 of MEL BAY. I was actually thinking of posting some stuff on that, but I am still wondering how i would start off. Will definitely do something about it!!!
Fantastic stuff bandbaaja. I used to strumm it quite differently but this one sounds quite good. Could you also post something like this for har kisi ko nahin milta.... song from jaanbaaz... I have taken it up as an exercise and have listened to the song quite a few times and have come up with this 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & d x d x d x d x but it sounds quite different. Tried playing only the first 3 string during alternate down strokes... that sounds a bit like that but not good enough. I might be totally wrong. But could you guide me here. I have posted a thread for this seperately.
oops sorry about DO DIL i forgot ok the strumming pattern for DO DIL is easy. The pattern of rhythm used in the song is that the guitar strums one bar and remains silent in the next bar. In that silenced bar the keyboard plays 3 notes. so its like | chang ja jhang ja jhang | tunk tunk tunk | --------guitar-----------|--keyboard-----| | chang ja jhang ja jhang | tunk tunk tunk | --------guitar-----------|--keyboard-----| For the guitar strums, u divide the bar into 8 counts and sing it as 123-123-12 so it is 1-&-2-&-3-&-4-& <OR READ AS> 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8 <OR BETTER READ AS> 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2 D---U-D---U-D--
staff notations I have been taking a few lessons and we only the staff notations. I find it easy but again it boils down to the basin mantra of Music..PRACTICE. I find it difficult to read tablatures. So when I get tablatures on this forum I convert them to Staff notations then play. I will try to post soe basic material on staff notations and based on the response may be go forward with details.
