Power chords

hello buddies...

can any1 plz tell me wat r power chords?? :think:

 

Monty, this is in the wrong forum. This should be in Beginners Q & A, this thread will be moved.

 

power chords r the 5th nterval chords.. like C5, D5, E5 etc

for eg

is E=022100, the power chord E5 would be 022xxx

hard rock and metal bands use it a lot for their riffs,
I find it convinient to use them, when i am playing for indian gig and i dont knwo half the songs.. and i have no clue if the chord i major or minor...
when in doubt play the power chord :

im havin sum difficulty also....when i play em....they just dont sound "heavy"....
