In a normal everyday conversation, that would be like "right, we're going to talk about this" and then the minute there's a change in subject, you say "hold on! this is not what we agreed to talk about. We need to stop and formally agree to start on this conversation before continuing". Also, a lot of people are so uninteresting generally that their first priority should be to try and say something interesting rather than try and say something interesting about the specific topic at hand. Usually, they tend to fail even at that. case in point: the soumya thread. oh god.

Because I think it was a very smooth con job to sell the site. Neo always seemed fairly smart to me but if this was true, it'd take him to another level. I used to think so too. Then you bunch started posting again and that raised my self-esteem in a fairly big way.
