    Dear Maaani,
    It seems that you dont' know the basics of musical notes. The formula means that you have to play only those notes that are mentioned in the formula. The musical notes beginning with C are:
    C Db D Eb E F Gb G Ab A Bb B
    1-----2-----3-4-----5-----6----7
    Now, as per the formula of C Major scale, you need to play 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. This means that you need to play C D E F G A B notes for the C Major scale. Similarly, the musical notes beginning with D are:
    D Eb E F F# G Ab A Bb B C C#
    1-----2---3--4-----5-----6----7
    Now, as per the formula of D Major scale, you need to play 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. This means that you need to play D E F# G A B C# notes for the D Major scale. Similarly, the musical notes beginning with E are:
    E F F# G G# A A# B C C# D D#
    1---2-----3---4-----5-----6-----7
    Now, as per the formula of E Major scale, you need to play 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. This means that you need to play E F# G# A B C# D# notes for the E Major scale.
    Hope this would help you.

    Dear Maani,
    Depending upon the guitar, the Guitar Fretboard may have 21 or 22 or 24 frets. Now, The first twelve frets of the fretboard are like the illustration as follows:
    No. of Frets
    ....|___1___.|__2___|__3___|__4___|__5___|__6___|__7__|___8__|___9___|_10__|___11__|_12__|
    e ||--(F)-----|--(F#)--|--(G)--|--(G#)-|--(A)---|--(A#)-.|--(B)--|--(C)--|--(C#)--|--(D)--|--(D#)-|--(e)--|
    B ||--(C)----|--(C#)-|--(D)---|--(D#)-|--(E)--.|--(F)--.-|--(F#)-|--(G)--|--(G#)-|--(A)--|--(A#)--|--(B)--|
    G ||--(G#)--|--(A)---|--(A#)-|--(B)---|--(C)--|--(C#)--|--(D)--|--(D#)-|--(E)---|--(F)-.-|--(F#)--|--(G)--|
    D ||--(D#)--|--(E)---|--(F)--.|--(F#)--|--(G)--|--(G#)--|--(A)--|-(A#)--|--(B)---|--(C)--|--(C#)--|--(D)--|
    A ||--(A#)--|--(B)---|--(C)--|--(C#)--|--(D)--|--(D#)--|--(E)--|--(F)---|--(F#)--|--(G)--|--(G#)--|--(A)--|
    E ||---(F)---|--(F#)--|--(G)--|--(G#)--|--(A)--|--(A#)--|--(B)--|--(C)--|--(C#)--|--(D)--|--(D#)--|--(E)--|
    The musical notes beginning with C are:
    C Db D Eb E F Gb G Ab A Bb B
    1----2----3-4----5-----6----7
    The numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 represent the seven musical notes of an octave. The first (1) note is the root note, the second (2) note is two frets higher (in terms of frequency or pitch), the third (3) is again two two frets higher, Now, the fourth (4) is just one fret higher, the fifth (5) is again two frets higher, the six (6) and seventh (7) are also two frets higher.
    Now, as per the formula of C Major scale, you need to play 1 i.e. C itself, 2 i.e. D, 3 i.e. E, 4 i.e. F, 5 i.e. G, 6 i.e. A, 7 i.e. B. This means that you need to play C D E F G A B notes for the C Major scale.
