    Have tried out both.....

for gigs and palying live go for pluto.......bcuz it features a very good tuner and pick up.......which is essential for gigs.....

for home practicin go for the yamaha for superior quality.....

but i should warn you that if u pick option no 2 u might do a gig at some point in ur life and if u have a yamaha it wont sound good....
i think u should buy the pluto for its pick up.......

    cheers!

Yamaha - Superior Quality wood...very nice Guitar........And dont worry about playing live at this stage. Better go for a good quality guitar. It will last long.

One can even sound like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani on JAVA Electric or any other cheap acoustic provided he is skilled enough......
    Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Sukrut No gigs. But i'd like a pick up "just" to tune the guitar. What say?

@mmg. I would like a pick up but will compromise if the quality is far superior .

    @Nemisis. What?

@NAZR dude u better invest in a YAMAHA rather than a PLUTO
...or go for a GB&A with pickup/tuner/equaliser.....it sounds pretty good...
the sound from the bass strings is damn clear..n the pickup is rugged too...
    @ nemesis.. whay say???

I need a pick up just to tune the guitar. Can i do it with a mic?

And also your opinion on the guitars mentioned?

^I always tune the guitar with a mic.
It's been ages I used the pick up of my acoustic.

Though having a pick up would be good if you perform on stage like Jack Johnson.. Standing, swinging, playing and singing.

But having a good guitar is obviously the first priority.

Pick ups could be later fixed on the guitar if required. No big deal.

EDIT: Regarding the guitars. I've played a pluto and I liked it but I would be more inclined towards the Yamaha. The Yamaha has 20 frets which would not allow u to play certain leads but again if you wanted to play leads on acoustic you won't go for a Jumbo Yamaha right?

Why did you not consider Hobner or even Granada?
It's quite confusing actually because I even loved one of the GB&a.

So my final say would be play the guitar, check it's fretboard for smoothness and feel it.

Arguably even a Givson could outclass the others if you find a right one.
