yes, but we've all written to a newspaper with the petition link, and we need many signatures there. someone i know did it for piczo.com, and it got unblocked :beer:

wanted to ask IT people if anonymous browsing sites or s/w manages to bypass blocking of sites like these

 

did it....but dont think 123 signatures are gonna do it for you.

 

Actually i have not tried it as none of the sites are blocked here. I dont think there is a way out if the sites are blocked directly in the server side of the broadband providers. Unless u know how to unblock ur IP address(This is illegal. Please dont try this at home) by hacking.

 

I think blocking discussed here is by allowing few sites only. that makes more sense. so proxy sites too will not accessible. thx cronix

Lavina is living in Middle East.
And one of teh perils of living there is mass censorship.
Even sites like Orkut (C'mon!) is listed as dating site and hence blocked.

Anyway whats wrong with a dating site?

The blocking is done by the ISP, as per the whims of some Mullah "cultural advisers" of those countries, who are high up in the repective govt.

LOL I imagine, even the news taht they get there would be full of propaganda (not that here it aint, but atleast not as blatant as there).
