wrong, u r missing lot of chords and ur freq of chords is half.. anfd lot of chords r wrong

and please follow the norm of posting chords below words and not vice versa.

it becomes very confusing to follow.
    Code:

    Ooru Sanam thoongid--ichu
               Abm E Ab

    Oodha Kaathum Adichidu- chu
                    Ab Dbm E

jay... you are right.. i listened to the song

    Code:
    Oodha Kaathum Adichiduchu....
          Ab E(Dbm) E
    Paavi Manam Thoongaliayae....
            F#(Ebm) F# Bm Abm

there are a couple of places where my chords are wrong.

but why do they sound ok even though they are different?

Is it because 2 of the notes are same in these chords?

yup. u were close. wrong is probably harsh word used by me, it was only used so that others do not assume it is correct. but u got the right idea bro. keep listening and tabbing.

hmmm i'm a noob to all these kind of guitar notes ... what is the % sign ? hmmm can the song be played in normal chords (the one usually at the 1st , 2nd and 3rd fret) ? can someone help me transfer it to that kind of tabs and if possible please load an audio for it ....

Good to see u here qartique!

Jay dunno if u are seeing this. qartique and went to same college in India. He was one year senior to me. Played guitars for a band called Aztechs. They used to play covers like HWS, Sultans and more (pretty much like u guys). He aced with the guitar. They also had an awesome bassist - dunno if you guys hook up still.

Seelan - % is a shorthand for repeat

oh ok kishmu :D hmmm can you post the chords for me ? the one which is easier to play ... at the first few frets ???

    eg: F = -1------
    -1-----
    -2-------
    -3------

instead of the F which is on the 6th,5th and 4th strings ?

anyway what is the difference between these chords ? wat are their names?

hehehe I visualize the song in Am.. so the Ab notation works best for me for this song.. gotta parse qartiques chords.. but they look correct.. good job dude.

Seelan, sorry I am not a guitarist so I dont know the fretboard much ( i will have to count!)

The one qartique posted should be good. You have to count slow each bar so all 4 chords in a bar is comfortable for u to play. For example

Oru Sa (G#m) nam (E) Thoongidu (G#) chu...

    Seelan Soldier Of Fortune

oh ok .... hmmm thanks anyway ... well i'm not familiar with the chords that is like Abm and stuff ... more familiar with chords on the 1st few frets (the basic ones) ..... haiz can't play this song then ... but thanks anyway ...

Hey Kishmu (or Murthy as we used to call you). Thx for the intro. Good to see all this activity here. Have just joined the forum so am more of a reader right now. I use the above format for chords because I find it easier to play along with.. even if I am not familiar with the song. Blindly folllowing the bars is good enuff coz every bar in the song is accounted for. Anyways, each one of us has a right to have his/her own preferences... whatever works !!

    Peace !!

u signed off with K and not Q , so its Karthik i guess :)

  20. Seelan

    Seelan Soldier Of Fortune

hmmm what is the difference between the chords on the first few frets and the one on the top few strings?

    eg;

    Code:

    F (1st Format)

    --1--------
    --1--------
    --2--------
    --3--------
    -----------
    -----------

    F (2nd Format)
    ----------
    ----------
    ----------
    --3-------
    --3-------
    --1-------

Both are also F but what is the difference and what is the names for it (i've named them as 1st format and 2nd format) ?
And I believe that the Ooru Sanam chords being posted here is in the 2nd format right? So can someone translate to the 1st format for me ?
