This may sound really simple to those that know, but I would like someone to explain something.

I know the notes as seen on sheet music. What I want to know is this: In the first 12 frets, where is each note located on the frets? For instance, when you read a B flat on sheet music, where do you put your finger? Is there a place I can go get this information?

    Thanks,

..ya the above link shows it all but you dont have to mememorise everything!
    Just remember the progression:
    A A# B C C# D D# E F F# G G# and then again repeating from A
so the note next to C on any string will be C# and so on..

THE DIAGRAM ON THE ABOVE LINK RIGHTLY EMPHASISES ON:

    Note order: AA#/Bb-C-C#/Db-D-D#/Eb-E-F-F#/Gb-G-G#/AB

( Bflat or Bb is A# and so on..)

    Hope its all clear now??

Once you've understood these notes -- u actually realize why the 6 (open) strings are called:
    E
    B
    G
    D
    A
    E
