    i ve been practicing lead for the last 1 week :shock: it started due to carnatic.. i gave up soon cause all my gamakkams sound liek blues hehe .. but the good thing is i am playing only my fender strat for the last oen week.. planning to reocrd some lead soon

    All the talk about harmony for carnatic.
    Heres a harmony piece by my violin sir for the same. He used to play the hawain guitar(ignore spelling).

    looks like a transpose.. can still call it harmony though!

    not a transpose, cos PD is two semitones while GM is one

    Ga3 - E , Ma1 - F, Pa - G, Da2 - A .. transpose to major third? dont know what you meant by GM is one!!!

    Transpose means u change the root note by some steps and as a result all notes get adjusted by the same number of steps.
    If this was a transpose, Ga Ma (E F) cannot become Pa Da (G A) since E F are one semitone apart and G A are two semitones apart. G3 M1 would be PD1 not PD2.
