Well, if you cant get it from abroad..take a tour of the local music shops and find out what they offering..then post those here and ppl can advice..
loads of fenders squire.. for abt 120$ well i managed to bargain for a chinese guitar with an amp it was abt 14k but after half an hour of bargaining n all it came down to 10k with an amp there were actually another one too it was abt 8k i i tried it sounded really great here is what the 10k guitar sounded like : no good ibanez in that range

Try not to order from the foreign websites (zzsounds etc.) as most probably you'd have to pay customs import duty (you may get charged upto 40% extra for that) plus shipping that would be like $100 at least if shipped from the USA. If you can go to Mumbai and check out the shops there.. Furtados, Bhargavas, and there is another shop in Malad.. and you'll see a lotta neat guitars in 7-9K range. Loads of chinese makes would come your way.. but better avoid it... try Squiers or Kramers which would be about 8-9K and you should be happy enough! But whatever you do.. please please please don't go for any indian electric guitar... I've burnt my fingers in them and i dont wish that for anyone...
