@Alpha1:Whats the difference between those pedals(like fatal tube) and a multifx processor like zoom g2?
Hell Yeah, I have lots, but none that can get the sounds you are looking for. And those are not up for sale either yet, so there... Why don't you string together a few Kustom or stranger pedals, distortion, chorus, delay etc, a few used ones would be about 2K total, and won't be bad for a beginner.
Yep, analog circuit vs digital means sinusoidal clipping methinks. This is what people call an "organic" sound. Feel free to correct me alpha1 or anyone else sirs :
Hmmm the difference is analog vs digital. Really speaking even I dunno what this organic tone really is. : But some apparent differences that I have felt while comparing digital and analog tone generating equipment is: analog tones are more responsive than digital in general [IMO]. How to check that? Two things: 1. Pick soft. Pick hard. Is there a difference in tone? 2. Roll off guitar volume, roll up guitar volume. Is there a difference in tone? Now the thing is, when YOU are playing, this difference would be felt only by you. You audience aint gonna feel it unless you tell them before hand that you are gonna vary your picking attack/dynamics at specific times and ask them to watch out for it. SO, it is possible that you can coax a wonderful tone out from a processor, and everyone listening may feel it warm/organic/brown/yada yada. However, the player himself might feel the "sterility" in the tone.
Agreed, with multi/digital fx the closest you can get to using the volume pot for any use is when you have active electronics. I notice the reduction in gain in my guitar when I turn the knob down. Dunno though maybe I developed the ear for it only recently.
Well I dont think a guy who owns a Fender California Strat (feels so good, but, ahem, its a Squier) can assert much choice, can he?
for a beginner i think it is more important to learn what he wants...for that a multifx solve the purpose for less money. quiet evrything is there to try out n discover..later on one can shift to higher end processors or stompboxes.. btw i hav a 707II, but i dunno how i can send it to you.
The AMT Calif does a very good JP imitation.... Esp the tone on Glasgow kiss.. And yes, Distortion factory is nothing great... DS-1 also sucks. As for the difference bet analog and digital.... Analog has soul.

Earth to Thundertone: Check my gear: 1. AMT Tube Hall (Got a 2nd hand from a dude from USA) 2. AMT California Sound(just ordered) Man This month I am gonna starve! I spent half my salary today!
Oh no, you see I met him yesterday and- oh f.ck it. What gave me away though? There is a site where they have rigs of many famous guitarists though, can't remember off the top of my head.
@Alpha1: The Tube Hall is second hand. But plays like a dream. 1 month old. 15k. Dude ran out of money.
