Picstory tomorrow. Before buying I decided to try out the Roland Cube ST once again. Tried them side by side. Amazingly enough, it was lighter than the Bass RX. But the sound on the RX felt a ton clearer to me. And the ST farted when I played the 7th string. So I went for the Bass RX. The ONLY gripe I have with this is that there's no distortion model. Kind of lacks versatility - but I'll feel that only when someone else plays on it, cos I don't use distortion. Gonna have gads of fun with this - finally, an amp that works, plus I can take it out! ^_^

On the amp- Next, as far as the gear list goes, is a volume, wah, and whammy pedal, but before that is a new guitar. Ciao!
congratulations on the amp... but what do you need a whammy pedal for? i own one and i'm confused as to what use you could possibly have for one. it sounds pretty cheesy, and polyphony is a no-no.
...a 4+6 string, and since the plan is to use it in conjunction with my current 7 - 7 for melody, 10 for bass and rhythm - it'll work rather nice with effects You're right though, I'm not too big on the whammy, but volume and wah are musts. Btw, can you make a volume pedal? B)
My budget for a volume pedal is 5-15k. But - I want absolutely zero hassle, absolutely no high suckage, smooth pedal action, even taper, full frequency operation, and it should not require me to give a damn as to just where it's placed in the chain. I have looked at Goodrich and Hilton. Folks say even they have minor crap (one guy reported Hilton coloring the sound a little, and some guy reported slightly uneven taper on a Goodrich), but are generally awesome. They're my second choice, if I can't get it custom built here. ...Sigh. =|
don't believe all the stuff you read - there's a crapload of snake oil out there. besides i don't really believe you'll be able to tell an uneven taper and tolerances of under 10% on something you're controlling with your *FOOT*! for all you know, the boss volume pedal might just fulfil your needs perfectly.
Aye...while it's a little early to say, but I'll probably be trying a Boss FV500H/Goodrich/Hilton first. (Definitely biased towards the potless variety, though.) Rickkky, which Rocktron did ye mean? And as far as wahs go, looks like each is so individual it's like comparing amps or guitars. Like you ask ten people and you get ten different answers - nwo that warrants checking out. But I must keep reminding myself, first, we must get... ...the guitar. :RollLol:
