Progress report 11th August Sometimes, you amaze yourself. This weekend was like that. I practiced for 2 hours this weekend. How my brain is picking up the chords, synchronous movements of fingers, amazing. Though still not perfect, but every time I play, I feel better. I read about notes. This was a major revelation. Now, I know where are all the notes on the fretboard. I know saregamapa on each string, though theoretically. But, It is a nice feeling. I'm practicing two chord song (D and A major), Skip Skip to you lou. This song is in my instruction CD. I'm very slow now, but I know that more I practice, more I'll be accurate and faster. Also, I found that posture, stance is very important. In good posture, I felt comfortable, moreover I was able to play chords accurately and easily. Tip of the day:Make sure you have right posture and stance while playing.
Saregamapa is for every scale as the Sa is the Tonic (key note), so for the C major scale the tonic(Sa) is the C, the D major scale the Tonic(Sa) is the D, etc.!
question to keoraf: when you say "sa" do you mean the c note??? or are you supposed to say "sa" of "C"???
I don't know what you exactly meant, but its just this: The Sa could be every note on your instrument but not every note on your instrument is the Sa, for example, in the C major scale, C-D-E-F-G-A-B, the C is the Sa. In the F scale, F-G-A-Bb-C-D-E, there is also a C but it isn't the Sa. The Sa in this scale is the F note and the C is the Pa. The difference between saregamapa and the C-D-E-F-G is, saregamapa is the way how you should sing a scale and C-D-E-F-G is just the identification of the notes used in that particularly scale.
thanx man..... any beginners who want to ask questions can do so in this thread isntead of creating new ones......very helpful thread.....
